ENG 356 Victorian Literature 3 credits
This course is an in-depth study of British literature from 1832-1901; emphasis is placed on aesthetic developments, thematic concerns of race, class, and gender, and the historical and cultural contexts of the Industrial Revolution, the Reform Acts, the expanding Empire, and evolution.
Prerequisite(s): For students enrolled prior to 2024-25: Completion of English Core Requirements; For students enrolled Fall 2024 or after: ENG 200, POP 100, WRT 201, or HNR 200
