COM 252 Media and Disability 3 credits
This course explores the myriad powerful—and often hidden and negative—ways in which media construct society’s attitudes about disabilities—and the people who have them. Students will study the media’s representation of disability throughout history and in the modern era—on platforms including television, film, advertising/marketing, photography, journalism, and documentary.
