DNP 830 DNP Project Development and Planning 3 credits
In this first DNP project course, students will identify an area of interest related to improving clinical practice or patient outcomes. Once the area of interest has been defined, the students will then be guided through the essential stages of fully developing and planning for their DNP project. Essential steps include: creating a body of supporting evidence, performing a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) analysis, developing a DNP project timeline with work breakdown structure, and assembling a summarizing prospectus paper. Additionally, students will explain the role of the IRB (Institutional Review Board) in performing their DNP project, complete related IRB training and submit an IRB application as needed based on their DNP project.
