FA 113 Music Theory II


3 credits

In Music Theory II, students will continue to develop their understanding of musical language and grammar, building on the foundational skills learned in Music Theory I. The course will focus on more advanced concepts, including chromatic harmony, modulation to closely and distantly related keys, and more complex forms of musical analysis. Students will further refine their ear training skills and sight-reading abilities, tackling more challenging musical passages and complex rhythmic and melodic structures. The curriculum will also explore the development of music historically and culturally, allowing students to deepen their historical and cultural understanding of music and compositional techniques.
