NSG 680 Acute Management of Chronic Health Conditions in Adults and Older Adults 3 credits
In this course, the student will learn how to manage chronic diseases and acute illnesses in adults and older adults using a systems-based approach. The focus will be on diagnosing and treating common chronic conditions and handling acute flare-ups, with an emphasis on current treatment guidelines and evidence-based practices, including both pharmacological and non-pharmacological options. The student will also explore how to provide patient-centered care in collaboration with interprofessional teams, while considering the social factors that impact the health of individuals with acute illnesses.
