NSG 681 Acute Clinical Management of Chronic Health Conditions in Adults and Older Adults I 3 credits
In this course, students will apply knowledge and skills from advanced physical examination and diagnostic reasoning, pathophysiology, and pharmacology in the care of adults and older adults with chronic diseases and acute exacerbations of those diseases. Focus will be on providing patient-centered care utilizing current treatment guidelines and evidence-based practices, including pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments. Care provided will consider patient’s lived experiences and culture, in collaboration with an interprofessional team, to address social determinants of health and determine appropriate teaching-coaching strategies for patient education.
