NSG 686 Clinical Immersion for the Acute Care NP

This clinical course serves as the final step in the clinical preparation of acute care nurse practitioner students. Students will work closely with clinical preceptors to integrate and apply their previously acquired knowledge and skills. The course provides an immersive experience focused on demonstrating competency in key areas, including the management of client health and illness, the nurse-client relationship, teaching-coaching, professional role development, and navigating the delivery of healthcare within a system. Students will also focus on ensuring the quality of healthcare practices. Emphasis is placed on independent clinical management of acute health issues, with direct collaboration from clinical preceptors. Additionally, the course highlights the synthesis of practice management skills, including economics, service reimbursement, time management, and the transition into advanced practice nursing.
