TED 244 Development and Cognition 3 credits
This course introduces special education majors to the sequence of child and adolescent development and to key factors that interact to govern how children and adolescents grow and develop across domains (physical, cognitive, psychosocial, behavioral, and language). Atypical development is also examined as it impacts these domains and how this knowledge is used to create classrooms that utilize developmentally appropriate, research-based practices that enhance students’ overall growth and well-being.
