The Arts in Healthcare minor is intended to introduce students from diverse backgrounds to the ways in which the arts participate in the continuum of care for the purpose of enhancing health and wellbeing. It does so by providing an historical, theoretical, and practical overview of the Arts in Healthcare in various mediums, including the studio arts, theater, literature, and music. Courses are thereby designed to cover a broad range of topics reflective of the field, including caring for caregivers, arts in healthcare environments, community wellbeing, arts in health education, aesthetic approaches to the body, disability studies, and others. No previous experience in the arts is necessary.
