For more information, contact Patrick Danner, PhD.

The certificate in Professional and Technical Writing moves through a 12-credit curriculum designed to train students in the genres, forms, and practices of workplace writing in a range of technical and professional disciplines. The certificate is designed for students looking to complement major discipline training, students returning for training in professional skills, and students interested in pursuing graduate training in technical and professional disciplines.

Undergraduate students not currently majoring or minoring in a writing track are also eligible for the certificate.  The certificate is not open to those who are concurrently enrolled in graduate level programs.

It is intended that the certificate will not be retroactive in application, but prospective upon declaration of intent to complete the certificate.  Three of the four courses in the certificate must be taken at Misericordia, and must not be used for any other major, minor, specialization, or certificate.  Students who have previously completed more than one course in the certificate prior to attending Misericordia are not eligible for the certificate.
