NSG 630 Clinical Care of Medically Complex Adults and Older Adults 2 credits
In this clinical course, students, under the supervision of their preceptor, will apply advanced physical assessment and clinical reasoning knowledge to the care of medically complex adults and older adults in primary care. Focus will be on providing patient-centered care utilizing current treatment guidelines and evidence-based practices, including pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments. Additionally, the student will develop proficiency in creating and implementing patient-centered care plans, coordinating with other healthcare providers, and utilizing healthcare technologies to improve patient outcomes. Students will direct patient care and teaching-coaching strategies to integrate the management of acute/episodic and chronic health problems of medically complex adults and frail older adults in various primary care settings.
