NSG 629 Management of Medically Complex Adults and Older Adults 3 credits
This course will focus on the management of adults and older adults with complex conditions and multiple comorbidities in the primary care setting. Utilizing a case study and interdisciplinary approach, students will learn to manage multiple chronic conditions, polypharmacy, and the psychosocial aspects of care. Additionally, the student will develop proficiency in creating and implementing patient-centered care plans, coordinating with other healthcare providers, and utilizing healthcare technologies to improve patient outcomes. Special topics include palliative care, ethical considerations in complex care, and strategies for effective communication with patients and their families.
Prerequisite(s): NSG 623 and NSG 624
