NSG 624 Managing Acute Episodic Illnesses of Adults and Older Adults


3 credits

This course utilizes a systems-based approach to the management of acute episodic illness of adults and older adults. It provides the  advanced knowledge and skills necessary to deliver patient-centered comprehensive, evidenced-based care to this population.  Essential topics include clinical assessment and diagnosis, pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, complex care coordination with various interdisciplinary team members, ethical and legal considerations, and patient and family education. Additionally, outpatient management of emergent conditions in primary care will be discussed.

Prerequisite(s): NSG 540 , NSG 541 , and NSG 542
