SLP 590 Dysphagia


3 credits

The purpose of this course is to provide students with a working knowledge of dysphagia. Topics in the seminar will include assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and work setting practices. It is recommended that students supplement the information from the seminar with additional reading. After completion of this course, students will have a better understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the swallowing mechanism and clinical paradigm, will have an ability to diagnose and measure swallowing disorders, and will understand the treatment process.
