CHM 116 Introduction to Forensic Chemistry 3 credits
This course serves as an introduction to the principles governing forensic chemistry as well as the the analytical techniques used in crime scene investigations, and is accessible to non-science majors. Fundamental chemical principles including matter, measurements, atomic structure and organic chemistry will be covered and presented within the context of forensic science topics such as evidence collection, arson investigation and drug chemistry. It may be taken concurrently with CHM 116L.
Lecture: 3 hours
Prerequisite(s): High school chemistry is recommended.
