ECO 406 Introduction to Econometrics


3 credits

This is an introductory course in econometrics, a discipline that uses statistical methods, mathematics, and economic theory to analyze and test economic phenomena. Topics include simple regression analysis, multiple regression analysis, classical linear regression assumptions, statistical inference, dummy variables, Logit and Probit models, and time series regression. The methods taught in this course can also be employed in the business disciplines of accounting, finance, marketing, management, and in many social science disciplines. Emphasis is placed on the use of statistical software to estimate econometric models and the interpretation of the results.
