The certificate in Entrepreneurship Fundamentals moves through a 12-credit curriculum designed to train students in the functional areas of business that are critical to an entrepreneur in managing a business. The certificate is designed for adult learners who wish to expand their business skill set and for students looking to complement major discipline training in nonbusiness majors. No prior business course experience is necessary.

Intended Audience and Admissions Criteria

As noted, it is intended that the entrepreneurship certificate will be for adult learners currently working who desire to advance their business skills, as well as students currently in nonbusiness majors at Misericordia who desire a marketable certificate to advance their business opportunities upon graduation.  Full-time students currently in nonbusiness majors are also eligible for the certificate.  No business major or minor is eligible for the certificate. The certificate is not open to those who are concurrently enrolled in other graduate level programs.

It is intended that the certificate will not be retroactive in application, but prospective upon declaration of intent to complete the certificate.  It is intended that the certificate will be subsequently stackable upon completion into other business programs at Misericordia, such as the completion of a business related major.  Three of the four courses in the certificate must be taken at Misericordia, and must not be used for any other major, minor, specialization, or certificate.  Students who have previously completed more than one course in the certificate prior to attending Misericordia are not eligible for the certificate.
