The certificate in film and media studies moves through a 12-credit curriculum offered across multiple departments and is designed to train students in the aesthetics, forms, practices, politics, and uses of film and media in a variety of global contexts. The certificate is for students looking to complement major discipline training in a variety of fields and students interested in pursuing graduate training in film and media studies and related disciplines.
The certificate is not open to those who are concurrently enrolled in graduate level programs.
It is intended that the certificate will not be retroactive in application, but prospective upon declaration of intent to complete the certificate. Three of the four courses in the certificate must be taken at Misericordia, and must not be used for any other major, minor, specialization, or certificate. Students who have previously completed more than one course in the certificate prior to attending Misericordia are not eligible for the certificate.
Courses with an asterisk (*) have additional prerequisites, listed in the course description.
