NSG 543 Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Across Diverse Populations


2 credits

The course addresses the integration and synthesis of concepts associated with health promotion and disease prevention for individuals across the lifespan. Family theory and assessment are introduced as a framework for primary care. Concepts of epidemiology, population-focused care, and the accessibility of preventative services for culturally diverse and vulnerable populations in primary care are emphasized. Current research in health promotion is used as the basis for identifying appropriate screening recommendations and interventions used by clinicians in the primary care setting.
