NSG 627 Pediatric Primary Care Principles 3 credits
This course prepares nurse practitioners to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to children and their families. Focus is on health promotion, disease prevention and management of common health concerns of infants, children, and adolescents in the primary care setting. Additionally, this course covers the normal growth and development of children and adolescents, and emphasizes the importance of providing anticipatory guidance and support for parents and caregivers. The use of appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic clinical therapeutics in the management of children and adolescents experiencing acute and chronic illness is emphasized.
Prerequisite(s): NSG 540 , NSG 541 , and NSG 542
